Magic Freddy (real name, Frederik Hamster) was born on 23rd August, 1972, in Amersfoort. He was the only musician in the band to give himself a stage name when he became an artist.

In his earlier years as a keyboard player he was a member of several bands, including 'The Harry Shakers' and 'Veevervoer', but in 2004 he joined 'Nickels & Dimes', replacing Henk-Jan Velvis. Unlike his predecessor, who played only piano, Magic Freddy also enjoyed producing the Hammond sound on his Nord keyboard.

His main inspiration was the pianist Roy Bittan (from Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band), but he was also influenced by many others, such as Billy Joel and Elton John.

During live performances, apart from playing keyboard, Magic Freddy quite often sang background vocals on some of the songs.

He also played on many CDs, namely 'Coverroad', 'Another Spot', 'Empty Hands', Discover', 'The Hidden Miracle', Like a Wolf in the Night', and 'For a Friend', which he produced together with Thomas Manetti.

As well as playing in 'The Real Music Revival' band, Magic Freddy joined The Bruceband in 2011.
