Daniël van der Molen was born on 13th January, 1986. He was virtually spoon-fed music from the start, as both his father and his brother were drummers. Daniël himself also learned to play the drums, and he took piano and keyboard lessons, but he didn't feel satisfied with these challenges. He wanted something different - and eventually found it when he saw some bass guitarists at a concert. He decided that was the instrument he most wanted to play. With this motivation he taught himself both acoustic bass and electric bass guitars - simply by listening to other players and by devoting himself to doing a lot of practice. He was inspired by Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastarius, Richard Bona and Andrew Gouche, and through this discovered that he most liked to play a combination of rhythm and melody.

These days Daniël takes part in many musical sessions, among them gospel gigs, and he recently did a 60-theatre tour with Ruth Jacott, a popular lady singer in Holland.
